Brunei International Gateway

Established in 2009, BIG is a member of the consortium for the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) Cable System, as well as the South-East Asia Japan Cable System (SJC). BIG currently provides international telecommunication carriers and digital content providers with wholesale bandwidth through our fibre optic submarine cable systems which offer extended connectivity and network diversity between the commercial centres of South East Asia and Hong Kong, Japan and the United States.

BIG Mission

1. To provide International Connectivity to meet Brunei's needs for the next 10 to 15 years.

2. To monetise Brunei's Submarine Cable System assets.

3. To enhance Brunei's role as a communications hub within the BIMP-EAGA region.

Our Products

WET SEGMENT

BIG provides unprotected circuits (10Gbps and 100Gbps) between Cable Landing Stations in countries covered by the AAG and SJC cable systems. Service is provided on an annual lease basis (1, 3, 5 years) as well as an Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) for 15 years.

Available in Brunei, China, Guam, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, USA West Coast and Vietnam.

IPLC

BIG provides unprotected circuits (10Gbps and 100Gbps) between Points of Presence (POP) in countries covered by the AAG and SJC cable systems. Service is provided on an annual lease basis (1, 3, 5 years) as well as an Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) for 15 years

Available in Brunei, China, Guam, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, USA West Coast and Vietnam.

IP TRANSIT

Partnering with NTT Com (AS2914), BIG has established an international IP gateway in Brunei and offers a Tier-1 IP Transit solution with industry leading SLAs and reliability.

Available only in Brunei.

INTERCONNECT

BIG provides cross-connects between cable systems and networks as well as associated colocation services.

Available only in Tungku CLS and Telisai CLS in Brunei.

Our Company

Brunei International Gateway (BIG) is a joint venture company between the Government of His Majesty The Sultan And Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through its investment vehicle namely Brooketon Sendirian Berhad and two telecommunication providers Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) and DST Group represented by DST International (B) Sdn Bhd to carry on the business of an investment holding and trading company which would enable BIG to participate in the AAG Submarine Cable project operation.

BIG was officially incorporated in Brunei Darussalam on 17 August 2009 to take over the Government of Brunei Darussalam's role in investment and membership in the AAG and future submarine cable systems.
