Asia America Gateway (AAG)
Asia-America Gateway (AAG) is a direct 20,000 kilometers high bandwidth fiber optic submarine cable system linking South-East Asia with the USA mainland (with terminal station at San Luis Obispo), across the Pacific Ocean via Hawaii (with terminal station at Keawaula) and Guam (with terminal station at Tanguisson) with branches into Vung Tau (Vietnam), Sri Racha (Thailand), Tungku (Brunei Darussalam), Mersing (Malaysia) and Changi (Singapore)
The cable is capable of delivering of 1.92 Tbit/s (Hawaii – Hong Kong) and up to 2.88 Tbit/s (US-Hawaii & Hong Kong-South East Asia). The initial equipped capacity of 520 Gbits per second with at least 2 fiber pairs. It uses the latest Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technologies with a minimum design capacity of 1.28 terabit per second and easy upgrade capability.
It is designed to support the burgeoning demand for voice, IP/data and video traffic between South East Asia and the USA with a high degree of inter-connectivity with high bandwidth systems.
AAG route is SAFE and away from natural disasters prone to the area such as earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
